The School of Languages and Social Sciences was created in 2015 as a result of the division of the School of Arts and Sciences to continue providing service courses to other academic programs of the Campus, and to develop research and outreach projects.
This School has a program in Sustainable Rural Tourism Management and teaches students in the programs of Agronomy Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Production Engineering and Electronics Engineering.
Currently, the academic disciplines in which classes are offered are:

Since its foundation, the School has carried out different research and outreach projects, allowing it to establish close ties between teaching, community outreach activities and research.
Misión
We are an academic unit of the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica at the San Carlos Technology Campus, dedicated to teaching, research, outreach activities and linkages with languages and social sciences for our beneficiaries, emphasizing pertinence, quality, innovation and adaptation of our activities to our context, making extensive use of technology, qualified and committed human talent, and promotion of key alliances in our work.
Visión
We will be an academic unit recognized for the relevance and quality of our teaching work in the San Carlos Technological Campus of the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, achieving local, national and international visibility and influence through increasing participation in research, outreach activities and linkages with languages and social sciences, enhanced by our high-level human talent and the promotion of innovation in our activities.
